The Cameras

For this shoot, I worked with two cameras: a 135mm film camera Contax S2 with 85/1.4 lens and my medium-format Pentax 645NII. The Pentax, loaded with Fuji Pro 160NS 120 film, delivered stunning clarity and depth, perfectly complementing Mutmai’s radiant presence. Additionally, two of the black-and-white images were shot on Berlin 400 film—my first time using it—which added a distinct, moody texture to the session.

The Concept

The goal was to highlight Mutmai’s natural allure using soft, natural light. Every frame emphasized her elegance and the intricate play of shadows across her skin. The results were both intimate and timeless, a testament to the unique qualities of film photography.

The Experience

Shooting with Mutmai is always a joy. Her confidence and poise make every moment feel effortless. With film, every shot counts, and each click of the shutter was an intentional celebration of her beauty.
